Dont forget a lighted makeup mirror for
your vanity
Is there a lighted makeup mirror on your dresser? No, were
not talking about that powder-coated handheld mirror you use while
standing directly under a bare light bulb. You should never have
to squint your eyes to see properly in a lighted makeup mirror.
In fact, lighted makeup mirrors should make it far easier to see
your cosmetics and makeup, not more difficult like it can be when
youre dealing with the glare from the 70-watt over your head.
Even if you had all of the top cosmetics in your makeup bag, your
lack of a lighted makeup mirror would render them nearly worthless.
If that sounds like an exaggeration to you, go check out your face
in a lighted makeup mirror. See all of those lines and heavy spots
you didnt even knew existed before you had lighted makeup
mirrors? Thats the point! Never underestimate the importance
of having a lighted makeup mirror, because applying your cosmetics
in a dimly lit area without proper magnification can make it look
like your foundation and powder were applied with a trowel and mop.
Even worse, plucking your eyebrows without a lighted makeup mirror
can end up giving you the freaky minnowish brows you criticize on
everyone elses face.
A lighted makeup mirror can honestly make or break the way you
look with your cosmetics. Beyond just being a lighted makeup mirror,
there are a few important elements any makeup mirror should have.
You need to be able to see yourself in both normal and high magnification
mirrors. Your lighted makeup mirror should also have easy to clean
surfaces, since dust and powder can seriously distort your reflection.
And finally, that lighted makeup mirror should be big enough to
reflect your full face but small enough that it can be easily stowed
whenever you want.
