Mineral cosmetics are long-lasting, beautiful, and healthy

You probably won’t find mineral cosmetics in the same aisles of the drugstore as Clairol, Revlon, or even Max Factor, but you’ll be able to find them throughout the annals of history. Mineral cosmetics have been around for centuries, ever since women made the first organic cosmetics by crushing berries, fruit, and other natural ingredients to form a powder or paste that became the first natural makeup. They smeared these organic cosmetics on their eyes, lips, and cheeks in an effort to encourage the glow that males found beautiful and an indicator of good health. This meant that the woman would bear healthy children and, voila, mineral cosmetics were born!

But mineral cosmetics aren’t exactly the same thing as those fruit-based recipes. Mineral cosmetics use things like rocks, minerals, and harder natural materials to form powders used to make shadow and other natural makeup. Ancient women made similar products, and now women can find organic cosmetics and mineral cosmetics made from very similar ingredients to those original formulas. Organic cosmetics are formed entirely of naturally occurring ingredients rather than artificial formulations and elements. This means that not only does a woman’s skin look healthy, it IS healthy and enriched by all of the natural ingredients.

Mineral Cosmetics like eye shadow and blush have recently become extremely popular. The powders and shadows are formulated of pulverized minerals and stones in order to create an extremely fine dust. That dust is then blended with natural pigment to form mineral cosmetics. The benefits of mineral cosmetics are vast. Not only is it good for the environment, the mineral cosmetics last longer on skin yet retain a breathable quality.
